Engineering Co-op Student – Integrity

Job Overview

The successful candidate will provide support to Kingston Midstream engineers who are responsible for the integrity of liquids pipelines and facilities. The primary focus will be supporting the Integrity department with the daily activities necessary to manage integrity threats, including project execution, asset inspections, data analysis, data verifications, assessments, and recommendations for mitigative actions.

This is a 12 month co-op position beginning May 2021.

Position Responsibilities  

  • Support Integrity Program Managers and Project Managers by completing assigned tasks which may include:
    • Collect, manage and analyze pipeline condition data from inline inspections or other inspection methods.
    • Prepare charters and documentation to obtain approvals and funding for projects.
    • Prepare DBMs, AFEs, and documentation as part of project execution.
    • Procure materials and services in accordance with the Company’s standards, policies and procedures.
    • Prepare designs and specifications and have them approved by the relevant stakeholders.
    • Procure materials and services in accordance with the Company’s standards, policies and procedures.
    • Develop and compile documents needed for the safe execution of the work.
  • Provide technical and non-technical support on integrity matters and execute requests from Management and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop project justification, economics and alternatives analysis in evaluating project feasibility.
  • Occasional day travel throughout the Kingston Midstream pipeline system to view system infrastructure and meet with stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Enrollment in an Engineering program at a qualified education institution; preference given to Mechanical, Chemical and Industrial Systems Engineering disciplines.
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate with internal and external stakeholders on a frequent basis, including both office and field staff.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s abstract.
