Integrity Engineer

Location: Calgary, AB with frequent travel to/from the Estevan Office 

Job Overview

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the planning, analysis and development of projects related to pipeline inspection and pipeline repair necessary to implement the Kingston Midstream Integrity Management Program. The incumbent will plan, develop and implement Pipeline Integrity Management Plans within budgetary and long-range planning cycles, and in compliance with Kingston Midstream policies and procedures, and applicable regulations.

Position Responsibilities  

  • Assess loss of containment threats and develop the annual budget and long-range Pipeline Integrity Management Plans appropriate for mitigation of the resultant risk
  • Manage, provide oversight and continuously improve assigned Pipeline Integrity Management Plans, specifically, inline inspection and repair, but may extend to include chemical inhibition, cathodic protection, depth of cover and geohazard management programs
  • Execute pipeline in-line inspection projects in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies, engineering and construction standards, and applicable legislation
  • Provide timely technical support and analysis necessary to support operational or project execution issues
  • Provide clear and concise communication of the requirements associated with integrity plans
  • Complete quality assurance activities in support of the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Kingston Midstream Integrity Management Program
  • Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation plans
  • Manage process changes through appropriate management of change process and incorporate changes into the Integrity Management Plans as applicable
  • Provide emergency response support as required, and support investigation of loss of containment events
  • Incorporate learnings into the Integrity Management Plans
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of a degree in Engineering (Mechanical and Chemical engineering is preferred, but other disciplines will be considered)
  • Must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan and Manitoba
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience related to pipeline integrity and operations
  • Previous pipeline inline inspection and pipeline repair experience
  • Familiarity with CSA Z662, NEB Onshore Pipeline Regulations, and Saskatchewan and Manitoba Provincial legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • NACE, API, CSA and other related courses are considered an asset
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s license as travel is required
