IT Network Analyst

Location: Calgary, AB

Job Overview

The successful incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the availability and reliability of Kingston Midstream’s network infrastructure.  This role will provide effective and responsive operational support and services to both the corporate network and the SCADA/ICS network.

Position Responsibilities  

  • Lead in creating a network strategy, roadmap, standards and policies
  • Provide network architectural oversight
  • Design, create, and implement solutions that meet business requirements
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation
  • Monitor network and respond to events
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis on issues and outages
  • Ensure the health and security of the network infrastructure, tasks include performing proactive maintenance, equipment upgrades and capacity management
  • Look continuously for opportunities to improve efficiency, performance, and security
  • Ensure that proper DR/BCP readiness and procedures are implemented and followed
  • Ensure that proper Change Management procedures are followed
  • This role will require after hours support and travel to field offices as required

Skills and Qualifications

  • University degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related IT discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years IT experience as a Network Analyst with experience managing and supporting Corporate offices, remote rural field offices, and SCADA/ICS environments
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with network design and architecture
  • Strong technical analysis skills, verbal/written communications skills, interpersonal skills, facilitation skills, and client relationship skills are required
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols and services including (but not limited to) routing, switching, TCP/IP, MPLS, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN
  • Strong Knowledge of network security concepts and solutions including (but not limited to) firewalls, access control, network segmentation/isolation, wireless security
  • Knowledge of Juniper, Ubiquiti and Pulse Secure network equipment is an asset
  • Knowledge of radio and wireless communications is an asset
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure networking is an asset
