Manager, Supply Chain Management

Job Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Commercial, Corporate and Regulatory, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team and providing strategic and operational direction. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader responsible for building strong relationships with leadership, internal business partners, and external service partners in order to understand business needs, opportunities, and develop strategies that support and complement Kingston Midstream’s long term strategy.

Position Responsibilities  

  • Lead the Supply Chain Management department including supply chain strategy, contract negotiations, resource optimization, supplier and financial analysis, Request for Proposal (RFPs), profitability maximization and supply chain operations
  • Coordinate and oversee Supply Chain Management inputs into Kingston Midstream’s management system programs
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to ensure consistency of process by creating, maintaining, and establishing processes, frameworks and standards for selecting and implementing supply chain solutions
  • Partners with business leaders to determine most cost-effective distribution solution for purchasing goods and services
  • Analyze complex business needs, recommend and provide guidance on process, identify and evaluate vendor contracts and assists with final purchase decisions
  • Develop, manage and be accountable for supply chain budgets, forecasts, performance and costs
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset and ensure consistency and compliance with processes, practices, procedures and procurement of goods and services
  • Lead, plan and direct staff and contractors to achieve short and long-term corporate and department goals
  • Procure goods and services including identification, review, selection, recommendation, and award to suppliers including closeouts
  • Travel to field offices as required

 Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressively increasing Supply Chain Management experience in the energy industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related discipline; Supply Chain Management Association of Canada (SCMA) certification preferred
  • Experience leading a corporate Supply Chain function; solid understanding of Supply Chain strategies, standards, policies, procedures, regulations/laws, and best practices
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, manage and initiate change
  • Superior communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to produce reports, negotiate and facilitate meetings with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with all levels of the organization
  • Goal and results oriented, can succeed in a fast-paced team environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced proficiency using Excel and Word
  • Experience with procurement software, Microsoft Dynamics, OpenInvoice an asset
