Job Overview

The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the continual improvement of Kinston Midstream’s Safety and Loss Management System (SLMS), including performance monitoring, conformance monitoring and control of non-conformance.

Position Responsibilities  

  • Lead in the development and implementation of the SLMS Assurance Program
  • Implement SLMS Audit and Inspection Program and supervise arm’s length auditors and inspectors
  • Develop Corrective and Preventative Action Plans (CAPAP) to address audit and inspection findings
  • Conduct incident investigations and prepare incident reports and CAPAP
  • Provide guidance to SLMS Program staff in the development of internal assurance activities
  • Prepare management reports on SLMS performance
  • Provide input into the legal registry and hazard inventory
  • Provide training and informational sessions with SLMS stakeholders
  • Access resource requirements and assist in budgets

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Engineering with a minimum of a 2-year technical diploma
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Oil and Gas industry, liquid pipelines and storage facilities (design, construction & operations) would be considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years experience in program and general compliance auditing, QMP certification is considered an asset
  • Experience with risk-based auditing
  • Familiarity with ISO 19011
  • Experience in conducting incident investigations and preparing incident reports
  • Experience/certification in root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with CSA Z662-15, National Energy Board Onshore Pipeline Regulations, Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Saskatchewan and Manitoba Provincial legislation
  • Proficient in data collection, QA/QC, data interpretation, analysis and summary
  • Proactive skills in seeking out ways to add continuous improvement to the organization
  • Strong leadership acumen
  • High degree of personal initiative and ability to work effectively, both independently and in a multi-discipline team environment
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills (written and oral
  • Strong facilitation, collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada without sponsorship
