Senior Integrity Engineer

Location:              Estevan, SK or Calgary, AB (with some travel to/from Estevan)

Job Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Pipeline Integrity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of assigned processes and elements within the Kingston Midstream Integrity Management Program.

Position Responsibilities  

  • Ensure that integrity management programs are developed, implemented and maintained in a manner that satisfies regulatory requirements and manages the organization’s exposure to risk of loss of containment events.
  • Ensure adequate collaboration with appropriate stakeholders so that required activities can be conducted safely and in accordance with corporate policies, procedures, standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Assigned programs and activities will be based on qualifications, experience and potential of the successful applicant, but may include inspections, data analysis and verification, implementation or execution of mitigative actions, and other relevant activities associated with internal and external corrosion control and monitoring, geohazard management, and pipeline depth monitoring. The role will also provide peak period support for pipeline inline inspection activities.
  • Ensure integrity management plans are clearly, concisely and adequately scoped for inclusion in the annual budget and long-range planning processes while ensuring application of least cost and fit for purpose principles, and provide oversight of and timely technical support and expertise to operational or project related issues.
  • Apply technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to complete complex fitness for service assessments and pipeline system engineering assessments.
  • Complete quality assurance activities in support of the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Kingston Midstream Integrity Management Program.
  • Manage program changes through an appropriate management of change process and incorporate changes into Integrity Management Programs and plans as applicable.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Engineering degree and eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Alberta, Saskatchewan and/or Manitoba (as appropriate)
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience related to pipeline integrity and operations. Previous experience related to management of internal corrosion control and monitoring processes will be a benefit.
  • Familiarity with CSA Z662, Canada Energy Regulator Onshore Pipeline Regulations, and Saskatchewan and Manitoba Provincial legislation
  • AMPP/NACE, API, CSA and other related certifications/courses are an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that can be used to make confident decisions
